A New Era for Justice in Nasarawa: Hon. Esson Mairiga Champions Multi-Door Courthouse Initiative

Justice in Nasarawa State is on the brink of a significant transformation, moving towards a system that is more accessible, efficient, and effective for all its citizens.
On Monday, Hon. Barr. Esson Mairiga, the Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Judiciary, Ethics, and Privileges (PDP, Lafia North), attended the second strategic meeting for the establishment of a Multi-Door Courthouse in Lafia.

The high-level meeting was presided over by the Honourable Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Aisha Usman Muhammed. The primary focus was on advancing Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms—a crucial step in ensuring that justice is not delayed and is within the reach of every resident of our state.
This initiative represents a powerful collaboration between the state's legislative and judicial arms. Hon. Mairiga, who is the sponsor of the bill to establish this vital institution, reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly to see this reform through. The bill has already successfully passed its second reading, signalling strong legislative backing.

The gathering was a testament to the unified vision for a better justice system, bringing together key stakeholders from across the state. In attendance were the Attorney General of Nasarawa State, the NBA Chairmen (Lafia and Keffi Branch), the Head of the Nasarawa State Investment and Development Agency (NASIDA) and the Head of the Judicial Service Commission
This collective effort underscores a shared understanding that a functional and accessible justice system is the bedrock of a prosperous state.

The productive meeting culminated in a promising site visit to the future home of the courthouse, turning a visionary plan into a tangible reality.
This is progress in action for Nasarawa State!
