One Death, Many Lost: Hon. Esson Mairiga Mourns the Passing of Elder Statesman, Sen. Solomon Ewuga

The political landscape of Nasarawa State is in mourning following the demise of one of its most prominent figures, His Excellency, Senator Solomon Aku Ewuga. Reacting to the sad news, Hon. Barr. Mairiga Esson, Member representing Lafia North at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, released a statement describing the death as a "colossal loss" for the state and the nation. In the heartfelt tribute, Hon. Mairiga extended his deepest condolences to the Ewuga family, the Eggon Nation, and the entire people of Nasarawa State."It is with a profound sense of loss and a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences to the immediate family, Eggon Nation, the Government, and the good people of Nasarawa State on the passing of an illustrious son and elder statesman, His Excellency, Sen. Solomon Aku Ewuga," the statement began. Hon. Mairiga, who also serves as the Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Judiciary, Ethics, and Privileges, expressed his shock, noting Senator Ewuga's immense contributions to public service."The news of the demise of Sen. Ewuga came as a great shock. He was a man who dedicated a significant part of his life to public service, leaving indelible marks as a Deputy Governor, a distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic, a capable Minister of State for the FCT, and a respected political leader in Nasarawa State. His wisdom, experience, and unwavering commitment to the development of our state and nation were truly commendable."Urging the bereaved to find strength in the late statesman's legacy, the lawmaker added, "As you mourn this colossal loss, I urge us all to take solace in the exemplary life he lived and the enduring legacy of service and leadership he leaves behind. His contributions will continue to inspire present and future generations."The statement concluded with a prayer for comfort for all affected by the loss."My deepest sympathies to the immediate family. My thoughts and prayers are with Eggon Nation and the entire state. May God comfort us all and grant his soul peaceful repose. Amen."

The Honourable member prays for God to continue to comfort the church of God, his wife, children, aged father, extended family, and friends. He further prayed for the repost of his soul and that of the faithful department with God, AMEN. It will be recalled that Late Dr. Rowland was kidnapped on Wednesday, 16th October 2024, and killed.
