Hon. Barr. Esson Mairiga, the member representating Lafia North constituency, recently graced the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) NBS Chapter's Gala Night. 

The Gala Night was a vibrant celebration of journalism, recognizing the power of the press to inform, educate, and inspire. It provided an opportunity for journalists, media organizations, and other stakeholders to network and exchange ideas.
Beyond Hon. Mairiga's attendance, the event also honored three other outstanding personalities from the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Hon. Jonah Ali Dizaho (PDP- Karu/Gitta) Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Hon. Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki (SDP-Lafia Central): A dedicated lawmaker and Hon. Hudu A Hudu (APC-Awe North).
The lawmakers were recognized by the members of the pen profession for their contributions to the state and their support for the media industry.
The Gala Night was a resounding success, showcasing the strong bond between the government and the media. It reinforced the importance of a free and independent press in a democratic society.

Amist tears, sympathisers and the Honourable member representing Lafia North Constituency at NSHA and Chairman House Standing Committee on Judiciary, ethics and privilege Hon.Barr Mairiga Esson and his wife were at ERCC Graceland Lafia, to paid last respect for Late Dr. Rowland, whose buried service was conducted for. The Honourable member prays for God to continue to comfort the church of God, his wife, children, aged father, extended family, and friends. He further prayed for the repost of his soul and that of the faithful department with God, AMEN. It will be recalled that Late Dr. Rowland was kidnapped on Wednesday, 16th October 2024, and killed. May God judge those behind this evil act. Before his untimely death, late Dr. Rowland Ayuba akuziji was the MD. RUWASSA Nasarawa State.
